Lead It

Learn everything you need to know to lead belay and lead climb in a gym atmosphere! This class will help you prepare for obtaining your Lead Certification at Vertical View. This class will teach you the most important aspects of safely lead climbing and belaying, including: proper clipping techniques, effectively giving and taking in slack, taking and catching a lead fall, and proper rope management. By the end, you will be able to make confident decisions to keep you and your partner safe and sending. 

Pre-Requisites:

-Must be at least 14+ years of age

-Must top rope certified at Vertical View

-Comfortably climbing 5.10b

-Proficient with belaying with an assisted braking device such as a Gri Gri, Smart, Jul, etc.

Cost: $100/climber, $150/2 climbers; 1 payment - 4 hour course
